I would like to take this opportunity to say Hi to all of the new faces I've seen here from the U.K. and Australia, who presumably found us by way of our eHarmony sites in those countries! Welcome!!!!

Having never lived in or traveled to England or Australia myself, I'm curious as to how (if at all) dating is different there than here in the U.S.

Are there any sort of traditions, or "rules", etc.? How do things generally progress?

It may be very much the same as here but it never hurts to ask

Well, since we are Down Under and hang upside down, we like to reverse some of the "rules", so that we can read them the right way up. This only applies to the rules we actually care to read. The rest of them we don't even bother reversing.

We also like to play some tricks on each other with Vegemite - can be a lot of fun, you know .

Other than that, I think that generally (although there are exceptions, of course), Aussies are more relaxed and less stressed about many things, including dating. Maybe it's due to the climate, or the cute koalas that we find endearing, or the kangaroos that make us laugh, or maybe we are just continuously high on eucalyptus fumes and the abundance of great seafood, wine and beer, but we like to smile and feel warm inside...

What are you saying that you all get drunk, so the expectations go so low, no one has problems hooking up?

In AMERICA all us fat couch potatos in our 50's only go for young HOT girls barley in their 20's. So any woman who does not look like the super models and PlayBoy bunnies we see on TV are out of luck..

Of course, but I think you missed the point where we also get high on eucalyptus fumes, let alone burning midnight tea tree oil, which makes it even easier to hook up!

And did I mention the abundance of cane toads in the land of sugarcane? We organize games of cane toad races with them, which is a lot of fun, especially when consumed with alcohol and fumes!

Well, unfortunately, most of us also occasionally have to work, so that we can afford to buy all that vegemite, seafood, wine and beer (we get fumes for free as an added bonus ).

Do you know any cane toads who could help keep this thread alive without draining until we get back from work?

Well i did have a date with an Aussie in Disneyland but it just didn't work, she cut through all the queues and dragged me to the front of every line!!!

I'm English, i see a queue i have to stand in it for a few hours complaining about the weather and the signs saying you are now two weeks from the front of this queue!!!
