Well, since we are Down Under and hang upside down, we like to reverse some of the "rules", so that we can read them the right way up. This only applies to the rules we actually care to read. The rest of them we don't even bother reversing.

We also like to play some tricks on each other with Vegemite - can be a lot of fun, you know .

Other than that, I think that generally (although there are exceptions, of course), Aussies are more relaxed and less stressed about many things, including dating. Maybe it's due to the climate, or the cute koalas that we find endearing, or the kangaroos that make us laugh, or maybe we are just continuously high on eucalyptus fumes and the abundance of great seafood, wine and beer, but we like to smile and feel warm inside...

Hey we have Eucalyptus trees here on Maui can we have some Koala's too? I game with Aussies and they are great. Americans panic when something goes wrong in the game and Aussie's just calmly say something like "no worries mate".

lol theres a really inexpensive place to stay on new kent road that i have grown fond of.

the first time i was there was in the early 1990s so it has changed a lot, unfortunately, but i still like it. if only they would open that tesco at the shopping center on sundays already!
There'as a backpackers place in new cross too if you really like living dangerously.

The whole area has become a major crime zone these days, especially the shopping center, i used to work there selling cell phones and i could tell some stories.

LOL! That is because it is our motto! Though I have learned it is an unwise choice of words when trying to soothe a disgruntled customer.

The Eucalyptus trees need to be the right kind ... koalas are a tad picky and prefer to eat, depending on their location, Tasmanian Blue Gum, Gippsland Manna Gum, Manna Gum and Swamp Gum. They do sometimes eat other leaves from wattle, paperbark, tea tree and some pine species.

Well it's at least a half hour walk from the Elepthant to New Cross via the Old Kent road, and on occasion it has felt to me like walking through south central just after the riots, lot's of wannabe gangstas there. If the old Sherman tank by the flyover were working i wouldn't be surprised if someone stole it for a bit of a joyride, i've thought of doing a Kellys Heroes impersonation a few times myself.

Clapham is a nice area, i was born there before my mum and dad moved to Brixton. Sometimes in the summer they have open air movie shows on the common and that's pretty funky.

I know, i was there, buildings were literally still smoking, my family were going nuts until i managed to call.

It's difficult to pick one place in London and say it doesn't have it's problems unless you go for the real money areas, especially when you go south of the Thames after midnight. That's why a lot of cabs turf people out at London Bridge, luckily i can get home from there even if i'm virtually unconscious.

wow i dont blame them for being worried. that was a surreal time. i lived in orange county at the time and it even affected us there.

truthfully, i usually stay south of the river. i think i stayed north of it once (Paddington). i just am not crazy about the thought of spending money on something that isnt going to make a huge difference in how good a time i have, and in the end to me a bed is a bed and as long as i can sleep i'm happy.

Well that's always a beneficial attitude to take, north London generally means "Add a zero to the price." A friend from Australia came over a few years back and had a place in Paddington booked from online, she walked out after seeing what she was getting for what she was paying. Now she arranges crash space in the homes of every friend she's got in England before she gets on the plane and has a great time with all the money she saves, the last time she was over i took her around some places you just don't see on the tours.

yeah add a zero and you just might get a little less mold in your bathroom and two square feet more space. but probably not.

seriously the hotel is a third of the cost. smart friend.
