Yea, I know. Let me elaberate.

I'm sitting here one evening in my pajamas on the couch and watching 'The Nature' channel.

Up comes this segment on Africa and I'm watching this male Zebra. Nice animal. Very muscular and it seems ambitious, due to what it does next.

It's obviously hungry, but there is nothing to eat where it is at. It travels about looking for food. Then it comes to a river and on the other side are these patches of nice green grass! It hesitates, but decides to go for it. (good man!)

So, the Zebra enters the waters and the current is strong. It struggles, but it soon begins to make progress. As it passes the center of the river and begins it's last leg of the journey the camera man zooms in on a Crocodile. This Crocodile begins to make its way to our heroic Zebra. As the Zebra finally reaches the other side of the river the Croc takes a snap at it, but misses! And the Zebra uses its hind legs and kicks the Croc in the head, which it then retreats as the Zebra goes more inland away from the Croc.

So, here is our Zebra heaving as it inhales oxygen through its nostrils and soaking wet, but it made it! (Yes! I was getting into this by then)

After a few moments it begins to feast. *The camera man at this point zooms onto the scene as the great animal eats* MMmmmmm... The Zebra is taking large bites out of the lush green grass and it chews feverously. (A prize indeed!)

Then all of a sudden this female lion LEAPS out of the nearby bushes with its claws extended. Its talon's dig deep into the Zebra's neck as it's massive jaws clamp shut on flesh. The force of the female lion's impact brings down our Zebra onto its side. Pinned under the weight of the predator.

Our Zebra kicks once...twice.... then lays still. It's mouth wide and tongue slowing slipping through the gap. The female lion gives out a short call and out from the bushes emerge three cute little lion cubs. They all feast on the warm corpse.

This is when I leap from my seat and shout, "NOW THAT IS LIKE DATING!!"

Ever feel this way? LOL

Some dates....you are the zebra...some the croc...and some the happy lion cubs.

I think that like the zebra...you have to have the hope and eye on the prize that you're willing to take the risk. If you don't take the risk with your heart...you'll not ever get the prize.

We all have our dating scars....but if you see them as molding you into a person you like...then you'll be ready to find another person in the same position. Happy..and looking for someone else to add more joy into their life.

I can relate to that in real life ! My SO lives across the Delaware River in Philly. Once over the bridge I have to run the gauntlet - Schuylkill Expressway with retarded drivers and crazed Eagles & Flyers fans leaving the games, then Gray's Ferry Ave. through the hood without getting shot at or carjacked - before I reach the safety of University City where she lives.

The local peaceful citizenry? You mean the ones who came out of the bars in center city and were rioting and setting stuff on fire when the Phillies won??

Yes, except the lion is male, and he doesn't jump out, he kind of strolls out of the brush and tells the zebra how beautiful she is and that she's so completely different than any other animal he's ever met.

Suddenly, he realizes a zebra is TOO different, and he's really hungry for water buffalo, like he's had his whole life. Then he runs off in search of another one.

So the zebra lives to cross the river again (and again), but never finds anything worth sticking around for on the other side.
