I know this was tongue in cheek, but one comment I hear over and over around here is that guys want a woman to take care of herself. I also hear a common complaint among married men that their wives let themselves go.

I would really like to hear from women on this thread how much they do spend to take care of themselves. From waxing (eyebrows, etc), lotions to make their skin soft (or to minimize signs of aging), make-up (which does expire and needs to be replaced regularly) to perfumes, intimate wear and other clothing.
exactly. It's like we have to defend ourselves for spending money on our appearance, and in the next thread the same guy complaing about that is complaing about women who don't take care of themselves.

I take care of myself...and admit to it, and its "superficial" and I'm not even close to a lot of girls I know!

dress/clothes, makeup, nails, etc.... isn't that stuff you already have??... or do you buy this stuff anew each time you go out on a date?
LMAO! I was thinking the same thing. Assuming they buy a new dress and shoes for a date and it costs her $90 do we calculate it this way:

First date with Steve: $90, dress is brand spanking new.
First date with Larry: $45, second time dress and shoes are used.
First date with Billy: $30, third time dress and shoes are used.

Look ladies. If you go out on three dates using the same dress and pair of shoes the cost is only $30 per date. Hey...try and squeeze out 9 dates with 9 different guys and now you are down to $10 per date.

Only a Venusian would calculate the cost of a date by figuring out what it cost her for a new dress and pair of shoes. Does the guy get to keep the dress at the end of the date? Or is it y'all really do buy a new dress and pair of shoes for every date?

Well, when I was younger and the economy was better. I... tend to buy new dress and/or new shoes for a special date. Now, I am older and wiser. While I don't "recycle," I still make each date outfit unique in it's own way. So it's never the same. :-)

Guess it is more cost effective to just have real fun on the first date
Home made smoked/pulled pork buritos, fresh fruit salad w/almond whipped cream, Bud Light lime with the toes in the lake.
same attire for dinner when we got back, Alaskan king crab, fresh artichokes (right out of garden) served with a cold Corona
Sorry, you can keep your high heels and expensive dresses ( I do love it when she dress up though )

dude....it doesn't matter if its casual or a black tie event....the same amount of planning the outfit will apply. it just won't be obvious to you. In fact, planning the casual daytime outfit is usually the harder one to pull off....I usually prefer "get to know you" dates in the evening for this reason.

Ha! Ha! True! I find it a bit more challenging to pull off a day time activity outfit. Especially, when the date is a "surprise" and just dress "casually."

Hiking, beach, day trips, amusement parks are all casual but are slightly different in what I'd wear. Anyway, hehe.

....and I thought this was about how much HE cost for dinner, parking, tips, etc. How many times have the women picked up the checks?
