For those of you put in your profile that you're looking for a "REAL MAN", what do you mean?

If you want a "REAL MAN", does this mean I get to kick back and drink beer, belch, and scratch my private parts, while watching a football game and while you're in the kitchen cooking my dinner?

How does a "REAL MAN" contrast with one who is not real? Are you really just saying that cross-dressers need not apply?

I dunno. I'm still trying to figure out what "real" means...

Personally, if I saw a profile that said a guy was looking for a real woman, I'd have to say he's going to be happier with someone else. It'd be kinda hard to guess at and keep up with his expectations, wouldn't it? And then I'd be stressed and he'd be disappointed and we'dve both wasted our time.

Long way to saying, were I a man and seeing that line, I think I'd find my Nikes & use them.

A real man to me is someone who knows who he is and is comfortable in his own skin; is self-confident; who does what he says hes going to do 90% of the time and who says what he means and means what he says. A real man is emotionally mature and honest and has the ability to communicate his vulnerabilities and insecurities and who is aware of his strengths and his limitations. A real man has integrity and stands firm in his beliefs and his values and doesn't sway like a leaf in the wind and faces life challenges. A real man has the ability to be intimate and fully present and available. A real man wants a real relationship where he too is responsible and accountable and who is equally respondent, attendant, and nurturant to my needs and feelings as I am to his. A real man is GENUINE.

That would be the same for a woman as well? Do we mean "real" person?

I suspect that when we see the term "Real Man" we are often expected to fit the physical requirements - be muscular, athletic, a good performer betwixt the cotton, build fire, fix cars etc ad nausem....

"Real" is, by far, the most overused and generic word in modern dating. It has no true meaning, and is therefore devoid of any real value in communication. I will skip any profile that uses the word in a serious manner, because the person cannot even accurately describe what they want, or are just too lazy to do so.
