Can We Blame Our Bad Behavior on Stone-Age Genes? | Newsweek Newsweek Culture | Newsweek.com

Very interesting article on newsweek today. Thank God! I've never done any tests of my own...well, formally. But this was a refreshing read, and makes me happy!

Not enough opportunities to talk about TV stars and pets, I presume?

Despite the title the article doesn't really seem to be saying you 'can't blame your bad behavior on your genes'. Rather, the evidence they give only seems to indicate that the bad behavior you can 'blame' on our genetic heritage is different, and more complex, than previously thought.

I agree, but it turns a lot of popular theories around completley.

Thank you!
It is just insane to blame such behavior on genes. We are not just animals, we are humans, with a unique capacity to reason with our brains.

And if any of you are interested in Darwin, we have a city by that name in the land of Oz. Not far from that city is a place called Kakadu National Park, where you can see some amazing aboriginal cave art - it's awesome!

We can still beat our fellow posters over the head with them until we get tired and want to go to sleep.

Yup...and if you have a .9 waist:hip ratio you can head to Peru and you'll be the ideal woman. Maybe that's part of evolution too...the benefit of figuring out where you're most in demand and moving there, lol.
