I meet someone, 18 monthes ago, on eh. We went out on one date and seem to really hit it off. In fact, things moved WAY to fast. She told me the next day that she really wasnt ready for that and didnt know how she felt about it. My response was that I understood completely and for her to call when she was ready to talk. Fastforward to two weeks ago, We ran into each other by chance, We talked for a few minutes and exchanged info. I called her and asked if she might want to try again. She seemed pretty enthusiastic about going out. We set up date for this weekend and had a great time(at least I did). Had a nice kiss at the end of the date, I sent her home before things went to far, because I like her and dont want to scare her off. We texted some yesterday, went well. Now how do I proceed from here? Sorry I am so long winded, but wanted to give as much detail as possible.

How do you proceed from here? SLOWLY. Take your time to get to know each other. Ask her out again, and maybe go and do something together that you both enjoy so that you can have fun and talk at the same time. The key here, though, is to not end up where you ended up last time, which was an uncomfortable place to be in.

Sorry to see that you didn't get responses on this one...hopefully this will bump your post up and get you some more responses, as well.

Out of step is quite an accurate description here.
You have a strong physical connection - fantastic! But relationships do not survive on that alone. So, I would suggest to slightly tone down the physical, and concentrate on developing intellectual, emotional, spiritual or whatever is important to both of you.

How about a casual dinner, sitting on opposite sides of the table, just talking?

And you have my full permission to share a very passionate kiss after that!

Invite her out to something fun that you both like to do. I agree with the other posters, you need to get to know each other first, then romance will naturally happen. You already know you two have chemistry, so see if you have things in common now. Museums, concerts, carnivals, even rock climbing, if that is what you both are interested in. Give it time- patience is it own reward. And a lot of handholding. And communication. Hope this helps. Suzie

This is good advice.

I suspect from your OP that the first time around sex was involved. Once again we have an example that sex too soon is not a good foundation to build a relationship on.

Why not keep your "dates" in public places where intimate moments are really limited simply by the "cloud of witnesses". Or why don't you both volunteer at a cause that you are both interested in? like boyscouts, little league, Veterans cause, or a church function - like teaching a sunday school class or playing on church team? This gives you a common activity where you are in the same place, but not necessarily functioning as a "couple" - it affords you the opportunity to learn to know the person behind the attraction and allows you time to proceed more slowly.
