Within the month I anticipate being asked out on a first date.  Personally I think this guy is great but he somewhat forewarned  me that he's insecure about his looks.  Granted he's not

a Brad Pitt look-a-like.  However what he lacks in looks, I can almost guarantee, he greatly

surpasses in other areas.  But that can only be determined after the first few dates.  My focus

will be on him,  without detection.  I want him to be totally comfortable with me because I really like this guy.  Not expecting any miracles, I just want us to have fun and enjoy each

others company.

4. Don't wear your painting clothes.
5. Take a shower BEFORE the date.
6. Don't wear your old wedding ring.

One sure fire way to kill a date is using too strong and too much cologne or perfume. This goes for guys too. For guys the girls are really not interested in how much chest hair you have so button up and if you are super hairy then clip it at the neck and wear a tee shirt under your normal shirt.

Do you think perhaps your need to "jumpstart" the date and focus on him entirely might be a bit unnerving? I mean if a date is so dead it needs a defibrillator to get it going I think it's over before it starts. You want him to relax right? But your post doesn't say relax to me.
