OK guys - you go out on a couple of dates with this girl, and you like her. Then you find out (because she told you - as soon as she found out - it was not something she knew from day 1) that she dated someone you are going to be working with eventually (he may possibly be your supervisor at this new job). What do you do? Keep dating her anyway or walk away?

So long as I really like her and see that she really likes me, I'll keep dating her. I don't think that it should really matter. What would be uncomfortable is if her ex/my boss still had feelings for her and knew about us. That's when your question really becomes important.

Unless the person that would become my boss was her ex I can't see that there would be any problem.

It would kind of depend. What kind of relationship did you have with your date's boss? If it was just dating, who cares. If you were engaged and called it off ... yeah, that might present more of an issue. Also, the corporate structure matters. It's a lot harder for a supervisor to mess with someone in a large corporation with structured HR than it is in a small company where its more seat of the pants. Regardless of how bad it is though, if he really likes you, he's not going to let his boss get in the way.

Just ask the guy you're currently dating.

Only his answer matter, not ours.

Everyone has a past; so, I'd still date her. Unless the boss's name is Lumburg.

well... if this guy turns out to be your boss and he's chewing you out one day, you can quickly change the subject by asking "so, how was she in bed? wanna compare notes?"

It sounds more like you're the one moving down in the dating scheme... lol. You're supposed to move UP. Why date the subordinate when at one time, you had the supervisor?

Never happen, I march to the beat of my own drum.

Is that your best thought?

Nothing to discuss that is unless we worked for you and you were the Boss!
