It’s certainly not a subject that any online site cares to discuss much, in fact most seem to avoid it entirely, but I’m just curious because my own situation dictates that I couldn’t possibly relocate. I personally feel obligated to point that out in my profile and I was wondering what everyone else thought about the subject. Would you, whether you’re male or female, consider moving because of an eHarmony relationship? Would it even be a possibility for you? I’ve gotten a lot more matches than I actually expected, but very few have resulted in any sort of communication, and I wonder how much my “roots” are responsible for the lack of interest.

Well, it's not really a bomb. If you are going to entertain a long distance relationship, which can work, then one of you has to be willing to move.

Since it won't be you, it's fair to disclose that. I would not take that out of your profile and I would not narrow your distance, because while you may not be willing to move, the other person may be able or willing to move quite easily. This is important to get out of the way immediately in a long distance situation, so nothing to hide or drag your feet over. After all, if neither person can actually move, you are both just wasting time. Those who are not willing to move will close you and those who are willing to move will communicate with you.

By the way, a huge percentage of your matches are not paying customers, so that might be why the no response more than anything that's in your profile.
