It drives me crazy. Was dating a guy for a short while, he forgot that we had plans one night and made other plans, he apologized, but I was still annoyed/hurt, I sent a rather angry text (didn't realize it at the time, now regret it), haven't heard from him since. left a message two nights ago -- nothing. Don't know if he's mad, stewing, or just doesn't want to see me again. Help!!

I imagine men give the silent treatment for the same reason women give the silent treatment. He's angry and wants to stay away.

Frankly, what really leaps out at me is that this guy "forgot" he had plans for you. It's more likely that he chose his friends over you, and if he actually forgot then it's obvious he's just not interested in having any type of meaningful relationship.

I would recommend just moving on and forgetting about this guy, but if this situation happens again I would suggest not sending any angry text messages. You had a very good reason to be angry, but when you send a text he can use that against you by pointing at it and saying, "Look! Look how angry and unreasonable you are!" But you said you regretted it so I'm guessing you've already figured that out already.

Best of luck with any future romantic endeavors.

How to Confront Someone Who's Giving You the Silent Treatment - wikiHow

Google has all the answers.

But sending a angry text at the very beginning of dating is a huge mistake, and in his mind he is fully justified in not seeing you again. He probably has the attitude "If she's going to be that crazy, I'm just going to have to find someone who isn't."

Frankly, the ball is in his court. If you've apologized and left it open, there's not much you can do that is effective. I'd recommend trying to find someone new (and not sending any angry text messages within the first 5 dates ^_^).
