Hey everyone,

We're pleased to bring you upgraded discussion boards for
eHarmony Advice!

We recognize that change can be challenging but we are confident that once everyone gets used to the new boards, you'll really enjoy them.

In addition to greater stability, increased speed and improved functionality, our new discussion boards and Group forums offer the following features:
  • Interactive Polls: Turn any thread you create into a poll
    with viewable results.
  • Thread and Post Ratings: Rate your favorite threads/posts to help us feature our very best Member contributions around the Advice site and in our upcoming Dating & Relationship "Wiki" (Wiki coming Fall 2009)
  • Site calendar: List Community events like Get-Togethers, Members Birthdays or other notable dates in the Calendar.
  • User Levels: As your post count increases, so does your user level, as follows:
Dating Zone: 0 - 199 posts
*A Date To Remember*: 200 - 499 posts
**Dater with a Cause**: 500 – 999 posts
***Citizen Dater***: 1000 – 2499 posts
****Eternal Sunshine of the Dater Mind****: 2500 – 4999 posts
*****Lord of the Daters*****: 5000+ posts

Don't like these movie-inspired User Level Titles? Suggest your idea by sending me a PM.
  • "Share This" lets you easily bookmark or share a link to a
thread or post on Advice forums on other sites.
  • Thread status indicators: see at a glance which threads
you have posts in, which threads have new posts, which are
    "hot topics", etc.
More information about these and other new features is available in our FAQ section:
Dating & Relationship Discussion Boards – eHarmony Advice - FAQ

We have carefully tested this upgrade but moving to the live site sometimes reveals new issues.

One issue we found is related to updating the post counts: our team is working on that and expects to resolve it within the next few days.

If you see any other problems: things which do not work, or have questions, please post here....we will be monitoring this thread (once we get some sleep!) and will respond/reply as promptly as possible.

Thanks everyone as always for your participation in this Community.

Best regards,
-Lori

I'm just trying to figure this out. Am I supposed to go to the little box that says quick response? I did that and then decided to experiment with editing. Got a bigger box but when I tried to post my original message, I was told it was too short.

There are tiles added under our profile pic/avatar. What do these titles mean?

What is a "citizen dater"?

Interesting... see what happens when I go to bed... things change... or maybe this is just a dream... that's it. . I'm dreaming...

But won't let my paste in my smilies...;-( There is probably a way...

EDIT--> I figured it out... not bad... Just new and different... changes are just that changes... If I can figure it out I know the smarter minds here will too....

It is nice that spell check works in Firefox again and there may be a couple of other nice features. And the system seems to be faster.

I do like being "Lord of the Daters" and I like knowing when people joined the Advice site.

*** BUT ***

Where did smileys, formatting (bold, etc.), inserting pictures and all the other stuff go.

Navigating the threads is a bit more difficult.

*** AND ***

I have lost a whole mess from my post count and there are some other posters that I think their post counts as I remember them are messed up also.

For some reason they are not displaying for me - I've asked tech to take a look at it.

But typed smilies should work for you - it did for me last night in the post above, let's test again:

Yep - so, if your frownie had not had a nose, it would have posted as an emoticon.

But not all of the emoticons seem to work that way, it didn't post the razzer when I posted this:

:P

So adding that to the list....
