Those posting delays are usually intended to prevented computer automated thread flooding - usually by unscrupulous advertisers. I've seen that on a number of forums.

i like the new board, FWIW. the user titles are meh but they are changing that.

the one thing i wish would happen is the locking/moving of threads. i mean, someone will post asking for help with a specific issue, make three posts total and never return, and a year later the thread is still going and newbies are offering advice to the OP

i think it mucks up the board when this happens.

If you look at the bottom of the forum page (e.g., the bottom of the Dating forum page), you'll see a key to what each of the envelopes means (except for the mysterious red, which I'm thinking just means "very hot" topic).
Doh! Thanks neardc. You get 5 stars!

Also I noticed that the year is missing from the date of the post. All the more harder to tell if the OP is a year old. Usually I ignore posts that old but now you can't tell.

Holy Toledo ... take a little break from eHa and 'wham' - whole new venture in the works ... LOOKS promising, but frankly, so many 'gidgets/gadgets' options are kinda turning me off ...

The emphasis on this site used to be on the topics, and discussions, but it seems increasingly to be on how 'cutsey' and graphically stimulatin' a poster can be .... That's fine, I suppose, but I don't find the READ or information as insightful or as engaging as I was did.

On the other hand, NOW I CAN PLAY around LIKE NEVER before ...and to that end, yes, I see how some of these new options will 'liven' up the visuals ...

HOWEVER, be forewarned, take it from an 'old school' typographer, too much razzi-ma-taz TIRES the eyes, and makes for LABORIOUS reading. ..

It also creates, whether intentionally or not, two camps, that of 'the techie geeks' and that of the 'non-techie geeks'. The more tools the techie geeks have the greater their exploration/experimentation, and, conversely, the more alienated the 'non' technies will feel ... That said, YOU, eHarmony, presumably best KNOW your E-market.

Good luck!

p.s. Did want to also mention that it took me 4 times to 'log in' ... kept getting 'error' and hurled back to the 'front page'... started thinking I'd been 'deleted' and/or worse, 'banned'. !!

p.p.s. AND, my avatar isn't posting ...:-(

Good question followme - I liked the watch topic feature too and I'm too lazy to ready 16 pages of thread to figure out where this is.

Very irritating bit going on here.

When you click on the Add Reply button you get the text window but you don't see the thread anymore.

Just click on the "thread tools" icon at the top of the thread, and then select "subscribe to this thread" from the drop-down menu.
