I would agree that it means that he is patient, steady, and not easily angered. It's good, if he's telling the truth. It also depends on what's at the end of the fuse. Don't burn the fuse.

Usually that means "slow to anger",but there might be some double-entendre involved....

Taking the meaning of the comment he made at face value and the generally accepted connotation I think he is saying he slow to anger which is a good sign in anyone's books. I would consider him a keeper thus far. Good Luck
