What is that key question you are hoping to be asked on the first date? What is the question that if someone DOESN'T ask it, they might not get a second date?

Hmmmm....as long as they don't ask me what I have to offer in a relationship, ask to see my tax returns to check my finances, or whip out one of those darn 'proving lists'... I'm cool!

Just don't make my eyes cross, or force me to give you one of my famous 'death stares'...that's all I ask!

Maybe this threadshould be titled "What are the questions you are NOT looking forward to being asked on a first date?????

To the OP: I believe in the KISS method..."keep it simple stupid!", so I never ask any hard-core questions, and don't want to be asked anything heavier than what is my favorite color (or generic questions). I hate when dates turn into a high-powered job interview!

A successful date makes me smile a lot. Sometimes, there is a certain amount of tension on an interesting date. And that's OK. I like interesting.

An unsuccessful date tires me. I've gone on dates that felt like an emotional intelligence interview.

So. The tempo matters.

An interesting question would be "So, do you develop favorite patterns and use those as templates?" Ask her about what she has already told you she loves. Then, keep it light.

*CO takes a deep breath. Tries to frame answer so even pond dwellers will understand.*

It's like motorcycle wear ... it's intriguing because he looks like a gladiator. (who is that masked man in kevlar?) But it's sexy because it takes time to undress him. And I like thinking about that. The process?

The one question I would be pleased toanswer is "Who had the most impact with your upbringing?"
