I have a hearing loss, and even with hearing aids I cannot carry on a conversation in the car with music playing. I wishI had multifunctional ears but you have to accept what it is, is! Also I can't lipread and drive at the same time so car communication can be difficult.

I know this may not be too tantalizing to some of you, but I am curious.....

MUSIC in the car...what type of music do you prefer....something playful or classical?

Lets take it a step further...what is your worst experience on a dateconcerning music with in the ride to your destination?

Do you prefer some light volume music in the back ground as you two speak or none at all?.... merely curious.

I am the wrong person to ask this question -

If it is just me in the car then I am usually listening to talk radio unless no one is on that I like.

But if I was in a car with a date, I probably would not have anything on. I think I only have music on while with someone if I know them well.

If you get in my car, you'll probably have to turn down my stereo. My kids do...

In the CD player today is Hinder's new one. When I tire of that it'll be Viva La Vida Coldplay...haven't heard it yet and just bought it. After that, I bought this neanderthal copy of Nightwish from about 10 years ago....I LOVE Nightwish with any vocalist. Got an old Hoobastank, too, that oughtta be interesting....like even way before The Reason. Ah yes, just put away John Mellancamp and Joe Walsh is on the way...Creed stays in the car at all times. POD, Chevelle.

Found BonJovi in there when I put in Hinder this am...how did that get in there?

I LOVE music....at volumes or not, it's always on. You date me? You WILL like music or it's not even gonna remotely last. Turn me onto what you like. As long as it's not the same thing over and over and over...nothing bugs me more than someone who only listens to Hip-Pop. Period. Or country. Period. Or Rap. Period. Or Metal. Period.

I dated this 50 year old guy once that listened to...Prince. That's all, Prince. Aint nothin' wrong with Prince, but that's all he listened to, Prince. Needless to say, he introduced me to....Prince. He's talented. But there's more out there than just....Prince.

Light volume music in the background while speaking with my date. If we have been outon a few dates alreadyand I know the guypretty well, I don't mind blasting the radio up and sing along ) Can't really do that with the guys that I amjust getting toknow because I don't want to freak them out but I will ask for their permission if I really want to blast it up and sing along. Not really a big fan of talk radio though.

+1 ... although I don't mind talk radio especially if it's tuned into a baseball game

I can't concentrate if there isn't some music. I can only drive a few feet without the radio or a CD. If someone is in my car, I feel that I have to entertain them and I actually try to find a station or CD/ cassette that they will like. Keep it very low but always on.

The only time there is silence is if the car is not turned on.

I'm with you, Lizzie, except alone I listen to NPR or CD's. The weather's getting better and it's time to crank up Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings!
