If we're talking about a first date...

I prefer to have some music playing, that way any break in conversation won't seem like awkward silence. Classical works for me, but that's b/c I'm actually a fan of classical/opera music. If my date and I like the same type of music (rock/metal/symphonic metal), I like to listen to the radio so we can pick out songs/bands we both like. If we don't like the same (or just met and don't know), listening to a mix/hits station at low volume is a good option.

My worst experience...

Like I said I like rock music, but once when my date and I were listening to a rock station, the Nickleback song "Figured You Out" came on. And if you know the song, you know why that's awkward. The song starts with:

"I like your pants around your feet
I like the dirt that's on your knees
And I like the way you still say please
While you're looking up at me
You're like my favourite damn disease"

I know this may not be too tantalizing to some of you, but I am curious.....

MUSIC in the car...what type of music do you prefer....something playful or classical?

Lets take it a step further...what is your worst experience on a dateconcerning music with in the ride to your destination?

Do you prefer some light volume music in the back ground as you two speak or none at all?.... merely curious.
There is only ONE type to listen to : Techno/Electronic!

ok ... just kidding. On the first date, techno is off.

I like it when the guy tells me, "Just play or tune it to whatever you like best."

Usually when I go out on a date with a guy he will just ask me if I would like to listen to some music while we drive. I always say the same thing: "put on something relaxing.." because that is the easiest music to talk over. If you don't have anything soft and loungyor laid-back, then try a classical station on the radio.

But I think it is nice to always ask your date what she prefers, that way she can see that you are concerned with her overall comfort.

In my car I listen to both kinds of music...country AND western. On dates it's turned down.

I could possibly see haning some quiet background music on. When no one else is in the car, I never turn the radio on - I'd much rather listen to the sounds the car makesand the subtle hum of the tires on the different kinds of pavement.

I would have totally busted out laughing!!!...and then changed the station. Nickelback's gotten so sleezy now.

Yikes!! That song would be a tad uncomfortable in the car I'd say! But at least it wasn't anything by Lil' Kim or R. Kelly! I would absolutely DIE if "Bump n' Grind" came on or something lol! Otherwise any type of music in the car is good for me as long as we can have a conversation...my favorite station is Q101 in Chicago, they always have great music! Hopefully the Puddle of Mudd song "Control" or that Nickelback song wouldn't get played and make things uncomfortable!
