I am not a car guy, a car for me serves to get me from point A to point B and back. My current vehicle is a 2006 Hyundai Accent, it isn't sporty, does have some minor body damage on the drive side rear, I gave up on washing it after I got it as I drive on dirt roads often. The inside is in need of a vacuum because of all the dirt that gets tracked out here in the country where I live and work. There is some trash that I need to get out of there; however, nothing sticky on the seats and really no trash on the floors. If a woman thinks too much into what I drive and isn't interested in me because of it, it is purely her loss.
I don't think most women would have a problem with you driving an inexpensive car. I would absolutely suggest you wash and vacuum it before you pick her up, though. THAT might be an issue for them!

I don't know much about cars and I'm not very interested in them either. However I do look at how clean (or not) the car is and how the guy drives. Those two things tell me more about him than the type of car does.

I have something nicer now,but I loved my old "beaters": they acted as a filter to keep away the very materialistic minded women I'd rather avoid.

I think as long as you here the car running is all good alot of people don't tend to put all there money in materials and theres is those that do but are high in debt. me I dont care you can pick me up in a bus as long as the conversation is good thats all that matters to me.

What is a “domestic car?”
A current definition that fits a "domestic car" is a car that has been spayed and neutered!

Of course we make assumptions! For example: a man in his fifties driving a Harley leaves an impression. A man in his sixties driving a little sports car leaves a different impression. It's almost impossible not to make some assumption based on the car a person, (man or woman), drives since it reflects what importance that person puts on his/her mode of transportation, personal taste, financial stability (or instability), self-esteem, or need to impress others.

I do make judgements about a man because of what he drives. Clean and maintained is important but a man who pulls up in a snazzy sports car or an oversized Hummer screams that he's either showing off or compensating ... and neither trips my trigger.

I absolutely notice, and I do care, though it has not historically been a factor in whether I would date someone.

The correlation between her owning a nice car and me liking her for other reasons has been high, but certainly not perfect, so I would rather investigate the person thoroughly.

That said, my dating experience is young enough that a woman’s car usually had more to do with her parents’ money than hers (and often they were still on hand-me-down cars.)
Well written....
