I'm short too-- 5'3". And i look a lot younger than i am. Cool for going out, not so cool for going out to clients (i'm an accountant). It's funny, because i'm black and i'm female, but i think that i get the most condescension (sp?) because i look young and i'm short.

Isn’t that kinda the point of the thread?

You can control your look. Therefore you can control how you’re treated.
Great point, D_Lion! Although the look perhaps won't achieveeverything we'd like, I always believed inthe advice ". . if you want to be the vice president, the first step is to dress and conduct yourself like a vice president."

As to the OP's question, definitely girly is more appealing to most men for all the reasons already given. But it doesn't work for the office, and as several have said, most women can pull off both looks as appropriate.

But i can't always help how young i look. I blame the chubby cheeks. In my profile pic, for example, i'm 34. And as for my height, isn't there some kind of subconscious height discrimination that goes on? Where's that guy that knows all that random stuff-- Jacquesne? He might know about the rampant discrimination against the young and the short in the accounting world.

I think she is asking a more simple question than you genteleman realize. Take one attractive 28 year-old woman and choose which outfit would make you more likely to approach her:

1. a bright colored skirt that shows her legs to good advantage, medium high strappy sandals, little bit low-cut close-fitting top or sweeater, which gives you an idea of her breasts, loose long wavy or curly hair. Natural makeup, but definately some make-up, natural colored or pink toenails / nails.

or...

2. sheath dress (think Audry Hepburn) in sophisticated color of silk which does not hit higher than her knee, hair is in an attractive up-do which accentuates attractive neck and shoulders. She is wearing stockings and high-heeled pumps. Makeup is a little more "done" and classic (think Marylin Monroe) red lipstick perhaps and nicely manicured nails.

PS - In case you haven't figured it out: 1. is girly and 2. is womanly.

PPS - The woman, herself, has elf-ears in both cases!
Right on the money!! It's not that complicated a question.

Personally I'm biased towards the sheath dress!!

I wear my skirt right at, or a little below my knees. What does that make me?

Unsure which way you want to go.

Well, wecall it"professional" look.

That would depend on what profession you are in

Obviously, it wouldhave to bethe kind of profession that doesn't require one to "show legs" to attract business or clients.
Personally, I call it - Happy to see you...

It's funny, but some days I really am attracted more to the womanly look and other days I like the girly look more...even on the same women.

Guess I just am attracted to different sorts of looks on women, depending on what time I woke up and what I ate for breakfast (or some other random thing).

Overall I usually prefer less makeup on a woman rather than more. Other than that, I find a wide variety of looks attractive. Perhaps it has a lot more to do with the sparkle in her eyes and her smile, and how her clothes accentuate her figure.
