We've got a great thread about good things that have happened TO us - but what have your done lately FOR someone? Doesn't have to be anything major. If you can't think of anything you've done (ouch) - what COULD you do for someone else?

Last night I was in the grocery store. The cashier appeared to be in her late 50s - early 60s. Very slow. I could tell she wasn't confident in what she was doing. Additionally, the wonderful technological devices were not cooperating and working correctly. Came to the end of the transaction and she needed to apply a gift card to my purchase, but she didn't know how to handle it. She pushed her button for help -at least 4 times - to no avail. She was getting really uncomfortable and commented that it was her 1st night and she didn't know what to do. I reassured her it was fine - that everyone has to learn sometime. I turned to the cashier behind me at the next lane and asked if he knew how to handle the transaction. He said "sure" and as soon as he was done with his customer, he came over and showed her what to do. After he went back to his lane, she thanked me for being "brave" and asking her co-worker for assistance. And for being so patient - because she was so frazzled, being new and all.

It didn't cost me anythingto not let a little glitch like this result my being irritated and making things worse. I wish the guy behind me could have done the same....

It was a free "feel good" feeling when she thanked me yet again as I left. No thanks needed - the look of relief on her face when the other guy came to help said it all !!

What have you done lately, intentionally or not - big or small - to help make someone else's day better?

Hmmm... okay. One of my friends (who lives on the other side of the country) had hip replacement surgery this week (and she's only 52!). Today she received the big 'ol gift basket that our little group of friends sent to her, and she was very excited about that. The seven of uswent to high school together a million years ago and are still close, no matter where we all live now...

I gave out Valentines to random strangers yesterday.

I shared (some of) my birthday candy with the boys in the office and my waiter at lunch today.

I did not request that the boys in the office wear kilts for my b-day this year (I did last year : )

I hugged anyone who stood still long enough yesterday and today, whether I knew them or not.

Geez...it sounds like maybe I need meds, doesn't it? LOL.

I think it's the chocolate. I may actually be ODing on chocolate. But what a way to go!

Wish I could share it digitally.

I know; seriously! I mean, if we can send a man to the freakin' moon, we really ought to be able to share a little virtual chocolate! What's with that, anyway?

I am feeding two stray cats but don't tell anyone-it would ruin my reputation. My bud Charlie is going thru a rough time and I am there for him.
