I'll add myself to the group who can't deal with gum chewing and poor table manners (in that order). The whole gum thing is amajor irritant to me - no matter who's chewing it.

I can't stand people who spit all over the sidewalk, the street, the subway, and anywhere else they happen to be. Also don't care for people who litter and people who don't scoop up after their dogs. Who wants to walk down a dirty, poopy street?

One last one would be people who don't take good care of borrowed stuff. If I lend you a book (or anything else for that matter), I expect it back in the same condition, not dog-eared and chewed-up with the spine broken. I once lent a brand new textbook to a classmate and the first thing he did, right in front of me, was bend the covers back and break the spine. All I could do was gasp. He said 'What? You don't do that to your books?' I never lent him anything else after that.

I am pretty tolerant. There is not much I can't stand, but when the guy holds his fork with his palm while cutting his steak as though he's slaughtering the animal, I am totally turned off.

and one more thing, if I can't get two words into a conversation and any time I say one word he elaborates on it without giving me a chance, I am outta there!!!

I judge men when they use very poor grammar. Like "At the corner store I dropped my walllet over their...but your okay since you left you're wallet at home"

Great post everybody. The general can't stands for me are subforms of disrespect to yourself and those around you. Most notably:

1. smokers. YUCK. Its not sexy no matter what the ads suggest.

2. slow drivers in the hammer lane.

3. those who want others to solve their problems, but take no actions to help themselves.

4. those dictating how I should live my life, especially those who don't help themselves.

5. hypocrits and hypercrits

6. people who cannot articulate the rational basis supporting their opinions. (the "just 'cause" defense)

I can't stand the "oh I'm so cool" cliques who all are trying so hard to act cool. Or the man hating cliques (the lower iqed folks who all proclaim to be geniuses) and the "oh I might get lucky so I'd betteragree with them" wussie guys.

I'm sooo with you on this one brother!!

I'll bet we are even thinking about the same exact board member(s) on this site. And the ones (male AND female) incessantly falling all over themselves to give them major kudos (more like kissing their a**), regardless of how out of line or mistaken their self righteous 'high priestess' may be.

How did an exploration of what people don't like turn into a discourse on who they don't like?

it was supposed to be about "new" cant stands. You discovered them while you were exploring dating. But it's all good
