Must of caught it before I was a Christian and thank goodness I don't have anything else or believe in or al sex. I was always curious if one led to another and as someone mentioned it does. Also I read condoms don't protect you if someone has the 2 type as if you caress/touch them down there or if your leg does, then you can get it that way.

And to point out other things I Failed to notice before I went to work...
The silliest...How can you not believe in or al sex? It is simply or al to gen ital contact, what is there to believe in it happens all the time.
Your leg cannot transmit an STD.
No two or more combinations will automatically "beat" a condom.
How can you figure out how to use a computer and log on to the internet and register for this site and still not know the basics of disease transmission and how condoms work?
I really am not intending that as insulting, I really want to understand how you can think the way you do.

See why God's way is the best way?

You don't really have any idea of what you are talking about but that's OK. Your human and there might be hope for you yet. Rather than hanging with people who practice in belief and superstition, you would be better served by having the facts.

Most peoplehave herpes simplex 1 (the cold sore type) at birth. Some estimates state that 80% of the population have it or are at least carriers. Herpes simplex 2 is carried by approximately 20% of the population.

See why science is the best way? Get and know the facts, superstition encourages ignorance.

God's way is the way of the universe. If God is omnipresent then he is necessarilyin the things that you percieve as evil as well as the things that you think are good and beautiful. Omnipresent means he is in the plants, the cup of coffee you're drinking, you, and yes, the devil...poor guy. The universe (God, Allahif you wish) is everywhere... Go figure...

I just love getting up early so I can help everyone get a good start on their day...

Omnipresent means present everywhere at the same time...thats very different than your definition of "in" evil. Nothing about God is evil. Humans have free will and we do evil things but that is never of God...He can use it for good but He is not evil or "in" evil.

Omnipresent means "everywhere" my dear... Good, bad, and ugly. That's Christianity's definition, not mine. Besides, evil is a matter of perception. A person you may see as evil can be another person's hero.

wash your hands as I read you can catch the oral type from a door knob if someone has it then touches their mouth then the handle then you touch the handle and touch your mouth or eat something with unwashed hands.

I know nothing has been posted to this topic for a long time, but I'd like to set some things straight.

Both HSV 1 and 2 are spread by skin to skin contact only so this observation about the doorknob is incorrect. The virus CANNOT survive outside the body. You can get either 1 or 2 in either mouth or genitals, it all depends on which area was contacted by which virus, HOWEVER, hsv 2 is more rare orally. You can get HSV anywhere in the boxer short area, however, the virus more easily penetrates the skin where it is thinner, eg the inside of the mouth or vagina, etc.

One in four adults have HSV, genitally. As much as 80% of these people do not know they have it, because HSV is NOT included in routine tests for STI's, and many, many people who have it have never had noticable symptoms. Even when people are tested for HSV, most md's insist on doing a swab which only reveals if there is an active outbreak and they resist doing a type specific blood test, which is the only way to tell if you have been exposed if you are not having an outbreak.

As far as revealing it in your profile, I don't feel as if it is the business of total strangers. Even if you meet someone, this is a private matter which should only be shared with someone for whom it would make a difference. If you cannot see yourself becoming intimate with a match, they have no business knowing about it.

There are many ways to get around spreading the infection. It is only contagious when the infected person is "shedding" the cells which carry the infection. Unfortunately, shedding usually occurs prior to an outbreak - the way you were most contageous with chicken pox before you broke out. Use of an anti-viral like Valtrex greatly reduces the risk of transmission. Female condoms, wearing undergarments and other equally creative ways to avoid skin to skin contact have been successful in many cases.

The idea of being exposed to an STI can be unsettling, however, if the relationship you have with the person involved is worth the risk, there have been many, many people who have never spread their STI to anyone else and you may one of the lucky ones who fall into that catagory. If not, the love of another, even if they have herpes, can far supercede the inconvenience that something like this causes. Remember, herpes is not fatal andcannot cause any other, more serious condition. After the initial outbreak, if in fact there is one, it is nothing more than a skin irritation.
