Ladies,

Discounting the extremes (you dont like the guy, he doesn't like you, you're repulsed by him, etc). Would you be ok if a guy give you a light, two second hug after your meeting?

I am talking in the event that both you maybe tentative about each other, or just have fun and see where things go kinda deal.

Cause I think if I just said "thanks for your time" and extended a hand shake, very possibly it's not gonna lead to a 2nd date.

Thoughts?

Hugs are good. I grew up in a hugging family. I hug my friends and my family. My date hugged me before he left for the date I went on recently. Totally fine by me. A hug is better than a handshake. I'm guessing most girls would be fine with it too. It also tells me you're not so afraid/intimidated of me, which is a good thing.

Agreed PY. Avoid the handshake at all costs - I only shake hands if I've just interviewed someone. A nice hug, if you're unsure, is fine -her reaction will help guide you further.

I've gotta say that I'm not really big on hugging people I've just met so just because I don't initiate a hug on a first date doesn't me I'm not interested! Having said that, I wouldn't pull away from a hug if one were offered unless I found the guy really repugnant.

I remember a long long long time ago (before I became an expert hugger), I hugged my apt manager (she was leaving) and my hand touched her bra (in her back) that made me uncomfortable, so I moved my hand lower, but too low that I ended up touching her butt. I was so embarrased. She knew I didn't mean it though so she smiled.

Interestingly,I know somebody (a woman) who is a big and strong hugger...she has made fun of my light hug and said "Come on now....hug like this!!" a petite-average person but boy she huggs like an iron claw!! Maybe because she is into working out.

but I digress....

So I will keep hugging!!

I'd even consider a hug lukewarm, but that's just me. Light hugs are what friends do.

Years ago whenIwas in my late teens and early 20's the social events were held at community centres. Everyone ( all ages) showed up to dance. You knew what it felt to be in a guys arms before you even knew his name most of the time. Alot of first dates came from those dances. It is too bad they don't happen anymore. The result...alot of people have no way to meet someone and if they do..Oh my god...what if i want to hug him!! I really miss those dances.

So what are you suggesting a tighter hug, and a light peck on the cheek?

I'm not talking about us of course

You mean you didn't try jamming your tongue down her throat?!!? And you didn't show her a pic of your "little friend"?!?!? What's wrong with you?!?! Are you normal or something?!?!

Seriously,a hug is quite appropriate. You did good, PY.
