If you don't want to continue dating someone there isn't a wrong reason. They are flaky, they're a Republican, they talk funny, their hair is weird, they are all valid reasons, if something bothers you about someone, there is no reason you should "have" to keep dating them. For me flakiness isn't that big a deal.
Ladies, if this guy flakes out on you, it probably because he's being fudgepacked by his SO

the weirdest thing anyone on ehahaha can do is google a match. that is just too nosy for me.

OK LSS, googling your match is a complete different story than being flaky? Or is it not? :P

Bella, personally I disagree with LSS on Googleing a match. No I do not consider that to be flaky at all. Doing some research on a match seems like good common sense to be safe.

Heck no! Why would you want to date someone who had a habit of cancelling, especially at the last minute. It would make me very suspicious, unless there was a very good reason, like fire or bleeding all over everything.
Or on fire and bleeding.

...

It was also a consensus that going any farther than that is pure paranoia. Dating cannot be done without some risk. And trust. If you distrust everyone so much that you have to get a detailed background check on them before you start to date them, it doesn't bode well for how trusting you might be when it comes to an actual relationship.
Well said.

Has anyone here ever been dating someone who's flaky? Cancelling on the day or even last minute?

I don't feel like continue dating someone's flaky .. would it be so wrong?
Pretty much every girl I have dated is flaky in some way. None have ever canceled though.

There are some professions that may cause someone to cancel at the last minute such as a doctor. If the person has an ordinary profession and is canceling at the last minute then that would certainly be a reason to dump them.

In Philadelphia this is not considered flaky (My SO is a Philadelphian.)

However, forgetting the Phillies are in the World Series IS flaky.
