Meeting gals for drinks / dinner is getting to be expensive. Any ideas on how to lessen the costs? Asking to go dutch is tacky. Can't cook for her (at this point). So, what are the options? Don't say Mickie D's.

My first response would be that if you cannot afford to date then you should not be dating.


However, meeting for coffee is frequently used for a first meet. You could also substitute something like ice cream for the coffee. I would suggest a walk in a park as long as the park is always well populated. There should be many ideas for inexpensive or no cost first meetings.

You could end up spending more on coffe than a decent restaraunt!

No doubt. Meeting different gals and sizing them up (just as I am sure they are to me) can cost some money. In the city, there's tolls, parking, then the first meet. It adds up. I cannot be the only one thinking this.
