This is a good article, but I'm from Tulsa. I'd love to see some tips for where to go in Tulsa to eat and hang out.

Lake Hefner should be on here! The lake is a great place to watch the other boats, ride bikes, or take a walk. Especially nice for sunsets!

I just saw this thread, but I had to comment.  Most of these are good.  I would also include Cattlemen's Steakhouse.  They also forgot taking in a ballgame.  We have baseball (Triple A Oklahoma Redhawks), basketball (NBA's Thunder, f/k/a the Seattle Supersonics), Arena League football, and pro hockey (OKC Barons).  Also, besides Shakespeare in the Park, there are also a number of live theater companies staging everything from the Bard to Arthur Miller.
In all, though, this was a pretty good list.

For Mexican food, Ted's is the best. Make a reservation. There are a lot of ethnic restuarants. Gengis Khan Is Mongolian BQ near Norman which might as well be OKC. Lots of small restuarants from India. Really good if you like lots of curry dishes. Norman which is south of OKC has lots of good restuarants due to the college there, I think. Then there is Frontier City Amusement Park, White Water for water slides. Celebration station for arcade, put put golf, water bumper boats, mini race cars. Yukon has a beautiful park west of OKC. They have an ochestra and fireworks on the 4th usually. Good for young kids too. A little pond with geese and sunfish and ducks and turtles. Playground areas for the kids. The road behind Albertson's grocery store goes to the park. You can see the grocery store from the interstate I-40. Lots of good things here if you know where to look.

I was there once in mid-August. It was too hot for me to have any memory of a single thing we did. Thank goodness for bottled water, although I think any sweat I generated must have evaporated immediately. If I ever go back it will be in the fall or winter. I'll use this article as a guide.

I'm pretty sure there was something cultural involved... Maybe. And fascinating insights into Native American involvement in the building of America... Maybe. And some things related to boating, art, and music... Maybe? It was awful! My ex-in-laws were appalled at my lack of body temperature control! I think they'd spent a lot of time planning the visit.

Never again.
