OK, these are too funny! I don't do it to people that I've dated awhile - I tend to limit this to guys I only went out with once or twice. In that category this year, are:

But...my mind isstill back on HarryG's glowing woman!! What was it? Why did it happen?! And, was she perhaps merely reflecting back to him his own luminescent personality?

Ok..for you Grace, for you.

I've told this story too many times and people think that I am exaggerating. I'm not.

When I returned to NH from SC, I knew no one, so at that time there was no eH, Match, etc. There was a service called "Together". Fill out endless forms and get matched "perfectly"...uh-huh. I signed up and dropped $1200 to meet someone.

After a few, uneventful dates, I was matched up with "Glowing Woman". On the phoe she sounded like she had a cold-but it was October and I didn't suspect anything. We agreed to meet at her apartment and go to dinner from there.

OK...first the apartment: 8 cats, plus one stuffed and mounted ex-pet, plus her mother. I sat on the couch, sandwiched between the two women (ugh) and politely looked at 4 scrapbooks of their cats! The women were both under five feet tall and both more than five feet in width. Worst of all, my date spoke in a continuing wheeze (explained the "cold"). "I'm so (wheeeeze) glad to me(wheeze)et you!"

Yay.

We get to the restaurant and they turn down the lights...and she started to glow. A faint, greenish-yellowish glow. I asked her if she was OK and she said "Yes". As I tried to make conversation, I couldn't focus. I asked her where she wrked. She replied: "At Seabrook" (Seabrook is a Nuclear Power Plant in NH). ......O....K. I asked her where, and she stated "Near the reactor-but I don't wear those silly suits-they're itchy."

*I* suddenly caught a cold, apologized, drove her home and ran like Hell. As I was leaving she said (predictibly) "Call me!"

********************

To be fair, I have been labeled as the "Sexless Troll" by a particularly disgruntled date. So this is not one-sided. But JEEZ!
Oh, Harry, what a story! It's hysterical to read - undoubtedly pretty scary to live through. Thanks for sharing!!

Lets see I have a few:

Hoover- As in the vaccuum cleaner, he literally inhaled his food, I was barely chewing my first bite of the salad and I look up and his plate was totally empty.

Lawnmower man - On our first and only date, he showed up to meet me for lunch at a nice restaurant looking as if he was going to do yard work ( dingy, wrinkled clothes, unshaven)

Sh!T head- many of these

Rain Man - He had major OCD I think borderline autistic.

Mama's boy - Do I have to say anything else

"Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" - from the song of the same name. Some of you know her as "Clock Girl".

Absolutely! One never knows when your amphibious supersonic glider might turn into a submarine!

(Or you could just be into lots of different things. Occam's Razor, you know. )
