Well if she made this comment up front, it could be a message that she wants to defer physical affection until an emotional connection is well established so as to make sure she discourages any guys who think she'll be a quick romp in the hay.

If I were in your shoes I would ask her to explain ideally how she sees a relationship unfolding, or how a friendship transitions into a romance. OR I'd take the above advice and look for someone more like minded to yourself as far as looking for a partner goes. I'd definitely keep dating others even if you're going to continue with her to see where it goes.

I definitely understand that and appreciate the advice LDJ. I actually told her today that I'd like further explanation as to why she is looking for friendship first but yet joined a dating website. It doesn't make sense when you know what the others would be looking for. Unless, she's someone who likes to feel like she's in control since she knows they'd be looking for people of the nature.

I did tell her today however, that if we're to remain friends I'm going to be dating others so she wouldn't have a reason to be upset if she were too. I told her I'd rather be up front with her, rather than her gather feelings for me and find I was dating others. Especially if there saying they want to begin as "friends", then there is no reason to even think about getting upset.

she probably doesn't fancy you but likes the idea of 'dating' as you'll take her out and entertain her for a few weeks until she meets someone who turns her on.
