This may bea bit humourous...but now I am wondering if there issomething I ammissing that others get. I am getting to know this guy who has a cat for a pet...people tell me to stay away from a grown man who has a cat for a pet. I have no idea why. Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks!

Sounds like your friends have some, excuse my bluntness, stupid advice. Having a cat for a pet doesn't mean anything whether you'rean adult man or woman except that that person likes pets, specifically cats. Some people like the companionship of a pet but don't have the time or space required to properly care for a dog, so a cat is a great option. I havecat and I've dated men who have cats, just as much as I've date guys with dogs or no pets.

Perhaps your friends want the cat-guy for themselves

Look at it this way, any guy who can live with a cat knows how tolive witha woman Cats want attention when they want attention and everything is on their terms! I am owned by two cats and tend to date guys with no pets or cats. Funny thing is the guys with cats have 3+.

That's a good sign, I don't have to get rid of What (yes, that's what I named my cat).

I love cats. I'm a guy. I find this all amusing.

*wanders off to contemplate where in early life his personal development took such a wrong turn that it developed into a love of cats...

Blue,

LOL Have to admit that guys who are owned by their cats are definitely a different breed than those who own dogs Most male cat owners I've met make me seem like I neglect and abuse my furry critters! LOL Anyone who feels guilty and makes special trips to the grocery store to get certain brands of lunch meat for their pets is usually hilarious to date

The guys I've known with cats are definitely "keepers". Cats demand a certain kind of interaction and need to be cared for but allowed their independence. And I've just about repeated what Vegaschick said, haven't I?

The way a man treats cats is even more revealing of his character than how he treats his dog, I think, and it's something I look at carefully, same as how he treats waitstaff, or interacts with his parents and siblings. Can he be affectionate and recognize the other's autonomy?

I've got to agree with everyone who posted in here. If the man had more than half a dozen or more than 50 cats, then it'd be a problem. That goes the same for women too. I have one cat and have had him for most of my life!
