Yeah, wow...let's just say that there is no doubt now how much of a "non-bar" person I am! I decided (per another thread) that I would give it a shot and go to the local bar and try to talk to people. Well, the women at these bars must speak a foreign language, because I was completely ignored each and every time I tried to strike up a conversation. More than once mind you! I don't understand it! I look just like my photos, I'm not overweight, I have no deformities.. I have no weird sounding voice....I'm telling ya guys and gals, if ANYBODY is having bad luck dating or even just speaking to the members of the opposite sex, they need to come and talk to me first! Because I guarantee whatever problems they are having probably don't measure up to the luck I've been having!

So, anyways, I'm home on a Saturday night. Thinking about what I can do to fill the void. I guess I've always been a loner anyway, maybe it's time I just embrace it and learn to live life without that part of my life?

Why someone would expect to meet a potential partner at a bar or club is beyond me. You're better off without trying to pick up a woman at a bar anyway. Just being there speaks volumes about the kind of person they are. After all, you wouldn't want to date an alcoholic, would you?

I would ask if you're really that ignorant...but that would be a Rhetorical question.

Not every person who goes to a bar is an alcoholic!!
Bars & Pubs serve food too, and sometimes have really good live music.

Do you go shopping at the mall? Can I assume everyone who shops at the mall is also a shopaholic?

Kuku & Sp3ctre

Are those responses really necessary?

Seems a bit mean spirited when someone is just trying to put their experiences out there.

Unless........you are just joking?

LOL! This was kind of an experiment of sorts. I've had people tell me the only way you were going to be able to talk to women and get dates (and I can talk to women in other settings) is that you need to go to a bar and just talk to them. Bar = social setting. Sooooo... this is what I did! I enjoyed chatting with the bartender, and I enjoyed chatting with the guys around me about the NCAA basketball tournament, but in regards to chatting with women...yeah that part failed big time!

I am truly one of those types of people that are usually picked over because I'm not flashy, I'm not loud, I'm not outspoken.....but I am the type of person that to truly see what I have to offer, you just have to get to know me. Those who know me well know how great of a guy I am. But, it takes taking that risk and getting to know me. Very few seem to have the guts to do that? Hhhmmm.....

Have you tried any social networking sites, such as meetup.com?

There might be a few groups that meet-up in your area, once or twice a week/month that may interest you.
