I had been emailing a new connection that I made thru e harmony for about a week when we discovered we had a mutual friend. I have a great raport with this mutual friend and he and I tease and joke around quite a bit with each other. I emailed my new connection and attempted to relay this to him but unfortunately my email came across as being mean and or rude toward our mutual friend. I was being flipant and joking in the email. I had no intention of disparaging our mutual friend. I have not heard from my new connection in five days. At this point I don't think he wants to have anything to do with me. I want to email my new connection and set things straight but I really want to do it correctly. Please advise me as to how I can clarify that I feel badly for what I said?

Ask him out on a date. It seems you two will have a LOT to talk about...

And quit the e-mailing as a main source of communication. Use the phone.
