I haven't dated in over 20 years and I feel weird. I haven't found someone who I would like to date. How do I handle this when the question comes up about dating in the past? I am sure men won't like this non-dating one bit. Any thoughts?

who cares if they like it? you dont have to answer anything that you dont want to. dont feel obliged to explain something like not dating to someone. being in a relationship isnt a be all end all in life.

I am 51 years old and in my entire dating life no man has ever asked me how long it's been since the last time I dated. Never (it's been a long time for me people. Do men actually ask this question?). They will ask if I'm in a relationship at the time I meet them but that is an appropriate question so it's OK. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. I understand the feeling "weird." I haven't dated in a long time either...but try to relax and enjoy yourself. Don't over think things - it may make you nervous when you do go out.

I just had a divorce from an 18 year marriage. So its been a few years for me too. I am sure that guys would love a chance to date a newly available lady. I think its much more pressure for me, a guy, because I am expected to be able to impress a lady with all my fine dating skills that I have not used in 18 years!
