^^ This. He'd like to meet you face to face, but he first and foremost wants to make sure that you're comfortable with the situation and is giving you the option to communicate more first if you'd like.

Personally, I'd recommend meeting in person sooner rather than later, but if you're really not comfortable with the situation (if not, why?) then take him up on his offer at email more or have a phone call first.

I'm with Melman on this one - I too do not feel comfortable talking to a stranger on the phone.

Further to that, I don't like giving out my phone number to a complete stranger. I envision worst case scenario of having to get my number changed as a result.

I would rather have a quick meeting in a very public coffee shop during the middle of the afternoon with my car parked a block away. That's just me though.

Has anyone tried eH's Secure Call? It sounds difficult to use, from the description on the website. But it does give the option of phone calls with no numbers exchanged.
