I'm 19 and have been friends with this girl for about 4 years now. I've always thought she was just a friend, but we got much closer recently and she's been giving me a few signals to show she's interested, as she is the same or so and is getting to the stage where she is maturing in the way she views love. I have to admit that I do like her a lot and we have an amazing connection that I can't describe, but there is one problem...she is taken.

Move on I hear you cry. It seems the right thing to do but I'm going to invariably keep seeing her for various reasons. I think she is worth the wait. I think I have enough evidence to believe we would make a good couple, but I have not seen her in a month or so. I am doing what I think is the only honourable thing and not telling anyone while not letting the friendship die. I am prepared to do this for a girl I think I could love. She is not friend zoning me as an emotional tampon or getting her ego boost or anything. I thought I was smothering her so I am keeping out of the way now, as is she.

I suppose what I'm asking is really if this is correct? I am not the kind of person who would ever think about setting out to break them up. Have any of you guys had experiences like this?
