I have met someone via eharmony and we've added each other on messenger. He sits online but doesnt stay around for long periods of time (As hes at work).... is it too needy and pushy to message him first or should I sit and wait on him to message me?

I dont know why im being all teenager about this... but I'm currently not in the same time zone as him so we actually cross paths as i'm going to bed when he's just leaving work. I thought waiting till I am back in the same time zone as him... and see how it goes from there.

You shouldn't expect him to IM you from work. He's working in an office environ on a business machine and these "quips" can be monitored. (He probably shouldn't have IM installed on company assets anyway).

Anyhoo, are you moving soon or something? Are you able to send him a text?

Personally, I would wait. Men need the chase. It's hard, I know, but for right now, I would be idle.

I'm sure others will chime-in and offer advice.

Good luck to you.

Well, it's also nice when a woman actually shows that she's interested vs being aloof in the name of the chase.

She's not acting aloof. They've gone through the eH process, exchanged email addresses and added each other to their IM contacts. If he's truly interested, he'll ping her.

I don't see a problem with messaging him. If he didn't want to be contacted, he wouldn't make himself available.

Ah, but if she's truly interested, wouldn't she ping him?

I'm wondering what's the point? If shes going to be in Ecuador and he's going to be in New York.

Absolutely...and she wants to. I just wouldn't until he reached out to me first.
