How does society/the dating community currently view a woman who is in their late 40's and has never been married?
Are they considered an "outcast"???

I think this really depends on the person. Some people choose to be single and others just haven't found the right one yet. There is no "right time" to do that either as some people don't find that right person until they are seniors.

You'll always encounter people that see age as like an accomplishment and checklist type of thing. Some people achieve those goals "on schedule" and some find life has a schedule of its own.

Just enjoy your life as it is for when you are happy with you...that "vibe" translates into finding the person just right for you.

No. I would consider it a 'plus' unless she was some sort of wack job.

I agree with this. People have different callings, and the married two kids by 35 norm is not for everyone....... Also it is better than a string of messy divorces and messed up kids........ If , however there were never any long term relationship, I might wonder why...

I find never-married preferable to divorce (strongly so in younger people.)

How do YOU feel about an older never married Man? In the middle of July, I started a thread asking why so many women around your age, even the never married ones, would rather not get to know a man who had never been married. Unlike your mostly positive responses, I got mixed ones. Do you think it's different for men and women when they consider someone who's never been married?

I agree. Every time I date a lifelong single man, I have trouble. Not that the men are bad, but they don't compromise easily. To me, life is full of compromises, the good kind where everyone wins a little!

I don't think a never-married woman in her late 40s is an outcast. She likely hasn't found the right person yet.

Well, I'm a lifelong single woman (to date), who is a few years short of 40, but I don't compromise easily either, unless it's necessary.

But that's only because I don't want to win a little, I want and need to win a lot, and then some...

Sorry, but we Lunatics are greedy, especially at this time of day (which is our night, or our time of day, I should say).

I think it all depends on what you were doing during this time.

I didnt marry for the first time until I was 44 but I was busy during my single time. Not waiting for some guy to come along.
