I like this guy. I think he likes me too. He says he does. But he lives far away. We can't "try out" a relationship right now. He is planning to move where I live soon. But he keeps coming up with reasons to put it off. I know he is scared. He has never moved far from home before.

I think if we fell in love we could make each other happy forever. And I think I might like if that happened. But I don't want to force things or rush things. And I don't want to start our relationship online. I would rather experience those first special memories in person. And so would he.

So now we are stuck in this place. We both like each other. We both want to try at dating when he gets here.

I don't know about him, but it's driving me crazy!

I have talked to him about this before. But like me, he doesn't know what to do to make anything any better.

I just wish there was a way, some way, any way, to make it not suck so bad that he's not here. To make the time pass easier. Any ideas?

Have you met in person?

If the answer is NO, then I think this is dead already. Regardless of where you both live it can't be that hard to figure out some way to meet!

Have you two ever met in person? If not, your relationship is essentially an illusion. Before thinking about things like moving, you need to find a way to just meet in person and see if you actually feel as attracted to each other in person as you are via computers and phones.

I don't think you are in love. You're in love with the idea of being in love.

Miracles do happen! Even I agree with KingFu on this

BUT
That does not mean that you cannot learn to love, and even fall in love with each other over time.

Love is patient. Strong and binding love requires a lot of patience and perseverence, despite the obstacles, and it's ultimately the most rewarding feeling of all.

My advice would be to get to know each other better, first at friends. Have fun together, share your present happiness and sadness together from time to time. Tell each other about your past experiences and create new, happy experiences together.

STOP driving each other crazy, remove the pressure of a potential "relationship" and start driving each other happy as two people, as much as you can. "Crazy" can never be a foundation for a healthy and rewarding relationship, for either of you.

As far as distance - it's an obstacle, for now. You can work around it by scheduling regular visits and maintaining contact via email or phone in between. Don't stress about the distance. Instead, concentrate your energy on each other as people who care about each other and want to spend time together (in various forms), so they can enjoy each others' company, make each other laugh in happy times and offer a shoulder of support during the not-so-happy times. This is what creates a true bond between two people, regardless of the physical distance.

Laughter and inner smiles are the best medicine of all. And there is no limit on recommended intake. So, please ENJOY!
