I met this guy a few months ago at work and we have been goi9ng out to coffee, lunch, drinks after work and dinner. To top it off we go shopping together and he asks me his advise on what to buy etc.. I thought things were going well so I told him I liked him. His reply was "I really enjoy working with you and getting to know you as a colleague and friend.....I hope you understand what I am saying?" - That's it. Help!

I'm sorry to say that while you may have developed feelings for this man, he doesn't see you in the same light. While he enjoys spending time with you, he only sees you as a friend, and not as a potential romantic partner. While it may not be exactly what you are seeking, it's not necessarily a bad thing; afterall, I've found that my male friendships are not only rewarding, but very advantageous when I need a guy's perspective on something.

He sounds like a "girlfriend" to me ....I hope you understand what I am saying!?

I wanted to add that I've gotta give him props for flat out laying it on the line and being very clear about his feelings (at least it was to me).

I love a guy that says exactly what's on his mind and doesn't hem and haw around.

It may sting a little, but you're much better off knowing where you stand as soon as possible.

If he's asking you for advice on what to buy (such as clothes), then he's obviously looking for some kind of coach to help him out on his other dates.
