I had been communicating with a guy via email for about 3 weeks when we both decided it was time for a phone call. He called me the day after I shared my phone number with him. I thought our initial conversation went very well, that he offered to meet for lunch. When he initially called me, I told him I only had a few minutes to chat, but would call him back the following evening to make plans to meet. I called him back as promised but got his voicemail. I left a message for him, but he never called me back, and that was two weeks ago. I'm not sure sure what to think of it. I've been on a number of eharmony dates, and I've never had anyone bail out on me before we could even get around to scheduling one. Should I follow-up with another phone call? I'm thinking that if he's really interested, he would just call me, but he could be thinking the same thing about me. Thanks!

If you're interested in him and you feel that that he's a promising match, go ahead and call him. If you just want some sort of closure regarding the lapse in communciation.... move on.

You have already called him once and I'm sure he got the message. Do not call him back, let him call you. If he is interested in getting to know you better, he will call. If he is not, he will not. It's just as simple as that. Guys normally call within 3 days if they're interested. Don't let your mind wonder about why he has not called or what you might have said wrong, etc...... Just mark him off as another one out of the way and you're 1 step closer to finding "Mr. Right".

Follow the guy plan ("Three Strikes and You're Out").

If it's been a (solid) couple of weeks since you've called, try calling him one more time. People get distracted, people get busy. They forget that they needed to call someone back.

Sorry, but if you told someone you only had a few minutes for a first phone call, he is assuming that you've made him a back-up guy or that you you aren't taking him seriously or that you purposely schedule a time when you could only have a short conversation. You may have called him back the next day, but you left a first impression that you can never take back. And, as I'm sure you know, the first impression is everything.

Advice for next time: Make sure that you have the time to dedicate for your first phone call when you schedule it.

I'm not reading that the phone call was scheduled. He called the day after she gave him her phone number. If it wasn't scheduled, I don't see any problem with her explaining that she only had a few minutes to chat and she would call back the next day.... which she did. Now if the call was scheduled, that is a different story....

OP: I wouldn't call again. You left him a message. He knows how to get in touch with you.

I wouldn't call him, either. Date other guys and if he pops back up, you can decide then whether you want to date him or not.

It is time to move on. It seems apparent that this guy is not interested now. Good luck
