Hello, yeah I have a strange question, Can you fall in love with someone you've never really "Meet" me and him are over 8,000 miles apart, and we can't talk on phone or with webcams, and I've only heard his voice once, and he sends me pic's of him and I do the same. we've known eachother almost 6 months now and we talk through e-mail and chat almost everyday, and we can tell eachother any and everything, we have too much in common and I feel as he is perfect, and I think about him a lot (maybe too much). I hope this is enough information on this for anyone to help, as have never felt like this for someone before and any help I get is good.
Thanks you
Mza

I am new to the boards but read what you wrote and have to tell you that you can really like someone you have never met, but really loving someone means even when they have morning breath!!

So its great that you are excited about this person and you should keep on getting to know one another but real love develops in person in my book.

Yes it is possible but realistically you won't know if the love is mutual or true until you meet. Sometimes people are less than honest and others just don't live up to expectations in person.

No one is perfect but it is possible he is the right one for you. Right now my concern would be your high expectations based on how you feel.

You really need to test it out in person as the longer it goes as online...the more attached you get. The in person time will either confirm or deny what you and him currently feel. As always love deepens with time but you sound like you have a great possibility.

No, you are falling in love with a figment of your imagination. Until you have met in person, all you have is what your mind created and imagined him to be and he is flawless and great and you have a lot in common and he is just so everything you've ever wanted. Unfortunately that is nothing more than an illusion that your mind is creating and the feelings that you have are very real - the only problem is that they are for a person who only exists in your imagination. Whether you would still feel that way about him if you met him in person and actually spent time with him and learned him for who he really is....well....who knows. Until you meet you'll never know one way or the other.

No.
Mza, You're young. 20 years old. I personally don't think people at the age of 20 really know what love is even in real life-let alone electronically. For crying out loud! You've only heard his real voice once? Stop thinking you're in love with this guy. You're not. Love is more than what you're experiencing. Like dancingfool said, this is a figment of your (and his) imagination. As a 20 year old gal living in Ohio, don't you have local guys you can date and have fun with??

That's what I think we sense-at least what I sensed when I read your original post. It's that you've never really had much experience. And have turned a pen pal situation into something that it's not. You have to be careful. People many times do some crazy things based on unrealistic "love" like travel across the country to see someone they've never met or put their heart and valuable time with someone only to realize there is no attraction. Or worse yet, get into a very dangerous fix.
In my experience, I've never know a 20 year old girl having trouble getting dates or attention from men. That's why I ask you aren't there any guys in your town that you can date? Why go blindly after this guy who lives so far away?

Can you fall in love with someone you have never met in person before?? It's tempting to, but it's not really a good idea. The best thing to do, is to have a telephone conversation first and get to know the nuances in their voice, get a feeling for them, and then agree to meet in person. Then, and only then do things start to really go together and you find out what kind of person they really are. Otherwise you start to build up in your imagination a picture of who they might be, and it's not realistic. So, go for a meeting and don't be too surprised if they aren't who you thought they were going to be. But don't make your mind up until then.
