I'm a member of eHarmony for the second year know. I'm close to 32, a well-educated, loving and caring person. In my profile, I tried to highlight all the positive things about me. However when I check my "who viewed me" section I barely find satisfying results. And my closed matches are more than the open ones. What do I do wrong?

I seem to be having the same problem as many other people.  I've been on and off the website for about 2 years with very little luck.  I've been single for so long that I am unsure if i can take it any longer.  Those who I am interested in the most keep closing me and I can't figure out why.  I'm well educated, with a good job, friendly, and am told I'm pretty so why doesn't this work?
I guess I need some profile advice and would love to hear what someone else has to say.

Hi Lovepink,

Welcome to eHarmony Advice!

We’d love to give you feedback on your profile. It’s one of the favorite pastimes around here. We’ve found that it really does make a difference in the amount of communication and the type of communication you receive.

You can either have each section of your About Me page critiqued by the community individually by posting to each profile workshop: Dating advice message board or you can even create a topic in the Using eHarmony forum and have your entire About Me page critiqued all at once (for free).

Hope you take the step, many here have gotten very helpful feedback!

All the best,

~Kate

Hi there - I'd love a makeover - I have very few requests for communication and wonder what I am doing wrong.    I feel that I have had a very full life due to my desire to experience and see the world.  My career lets me travel all over the world, I speak 4 languages, I'm a "3rd culture kid" so love the diversity of being able to slip in and out of other cultures & tribes of people.  I've achieved so many of my goals - I volunteered in Africa this year, so feel that I am a fulfilled person with great experiences & a good head on my shoulders.  However, in the end I just want to settle down and start a family.  I'm 38, almost 39.  I don't think I know how to communicate my essense well in my profile, it just doesn't feel like "me".  Friends call me very funny, interesting & intelligent but how do I translate this into a profile that will attract more results?  I'm at a loss & thought it would be best to get an expert opinion.  Hopefully you can help!    Thank you!

I'm about to be a 28 yr old guy that has a lot of goals to hit, but the most important goal to me is to find the girl that I'm meant to be with. Everything means so much more when you have someone to experience it with, and that's what I want. Someone to share my ups and downs, to have a family and grow old together, to help and support each other. My last relationship began on eharmony, and we ended up getting engaged but I called it off once I realized that we weren't right for each other. It wasn't easy, but it was the right thing to do. So with that said, I would like a profile makeover. I can never seem to get my profile worded correctly, as I'm always afraid that I've either left something out or said too much. I overanalyze thngs constantly, and my profile is no exception. I get a lot of matches that I'm absolutely not interested in, and the ones that I am interested in often don't return my communications. I'm no model, but I'm also not ugly. Bottom line, I need some help! Please?

I have an unusual challenge on eharmony - I use a wheelchair, but I don't want that to be how I am judged. I have tried to fill out my profile in an engaging and intelligent way in hopes that people will look beyond my disability and not assume by brain doesn't work just because my legs don't, but I still get very few responses. I am active and independent and motivated, and I want love just like anyone else. I would appreciate any advice you have on how to get people to see 'me' before seeing the wheelchair.

Hi Sarah and welcome to EHA.

I'd suggest your start a new thread on this topic -- you've tacked on to a very old thread and those don't get as much response as new threads. Put it in the "Dating" forum.

You might want to check out groups about dating with disabilities --
Dating Advice, Relationship Advice, and Free Dating Tips -- this is a link to the Dating with Disabilities group; if you search groups there are probably others too.

Another thing you could do is get your profile reviewed. It can be surprising how you think your profile is getting across what it should, but people don't see it that way. To review your profile, go to the Using EHarmony forum and see the instructions there: http://advice.eharmony.com/boards/da...12-1-10-a.html (PROFILE REVIEW INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES - updated 12/1/10)

Good luck!
