I moved to TX because MD and WI doesn't issue carry permits unless you're rich and famous. In WI, you're not even allowed to shoot someone breaking into your house even if you needed to defend yourself.

My main reasonfor owningfirearms was for target shooting (I'm exmilitary) and self defense purposes.

My favorite pistol is my Sig-Sauer p229 in .9mm - its a tack driver.

I also love my Sig p229 in .40 S&W as well as my Sig p220ST (.45acp)

I'm also known to carry a Glock-30 (.45acp) or a Glock-27 (.40S&W) - both are usually the night table guns but sometimes goes with me when I'm out driving.

If I really need to reach out and touch someone, my S&W MP15T M4gery in 5.56mm will do.

And if I'm in the mood to spread the love, then the Mossberg 500 12 gauge comes to hand.

I AIM to please

Hmm, well they don't really have liscenses for what I wield, but I tend to carry rockets, missiles, and 30mm stuff on a daily basis...or at least when they let me. Besides that, I also tend to carry the M16/A4 and 9mm (which I absolutely loath).

For fun plinking, then it would have to be my M4 (AR-15), SKS, or my Springfield .45XD. All good fun.

In Canaduh, the only thing you can carry for self defence is a whistle, or a celphone.

Good luck with that eh?

Seriously! What's that all aboot?

Sorry =). Couldn't resist.

Learn martial arts. They haven't found a way to take away fists and feet yet, I'm pretty sure. Or carry an escrima stick. I made some using a dowel and some electrical tape. Hard to arrest someone for carrying a little stick around, but if you know how to use one, they're pretty effective weapons.

Canes work pretty well too. If you can get a nifty cane sword it's even better but that could get you arrested. Get a cane and some jo training. You get some reach, a hooked end for manipulation, and something hard to beat people with.

Plus you look all sophisticated. Or crippled. Up to you.

Pretty nifty, eh?

=)

Not bad idea on the jo training. Or, if you're quick, sai's are great too. My karate instructor is literally sudden death on two feet with them.

I do have a CHP for my state but I also will carry openly when I feel like it (yes it is legal here and no you do not need a license to do it) I do that because it is a right and not a privilege unlike the CHP's. I carry a G27 it is a nice little gun, I like it.

I don't often open carry. But when I do, I go old school. M1911A1 in .45 ACP. No, it doesn't have the high capacity of some of the double stack 9mm handguns, but I figure if I can't deal with the situation with 7 rounds of .45 ACP, I probably should've brought a rifle.

I carry almost 100% of the time...either a Glock 22 or a Glock 27.

I have to admit that I carry sometimes my mobile telephone.

Often enough I bend over for a quite legitimate purpose and it fell out of my pocket.

A gun, probably I should not.

IDK what's up with the old threads being revived LOL! But you gave me a laugh... my brain works on weird ways, and I got a mental image of a firearm/camera/vidcam/smartphone. Talk about a spacesaver! oooooh how about an auto ON for the vidcam when the trigger of the firearm is squeezed? {good shivers} now I'd buy THAT!

Edit: forgot to answer the 1.5yo OP questions :-)
Yes, and depends on what blows my skirt up that day... I prefer one of the .357s
