For some reason, I thought that the men's wives or SO's weren't there...If I was with my SO and he bought a lady a drink, it would bother me much less...because I would assume the intention wasn't to flirt or make a move (but I might be naive ).

I think flirting in front of your partner is obnoxious IMO

But SS was talking about married men that are flirting with ladies and buying them drinks...that concept is unacceptable to me. If my husband was going to bars and flirting and buying drinks for other women...well, he shouldn't be married....at least not to me .

I've had to deal with a friend of my SO who made me question whether or not you should judge a man by his friends.

He filed for divorce last month though, which made me understand him a little bit better.

However, now he's openly with his No-Fault-Divorce Fault Girlfriend and he had bought her drinks on the occasions where he showed up to listen to live music with us and she happened to be there. He'd told us they were friends who used to work together.

(I hope that makes sense.)

I just don't like it. In my experience it seems to be a look into the future.

I'm a lot older than you are though, and almost everyone I know is divorced. I don't want to seem too jaded, since that makes life unpleasant.

The people who are still married appear to be in need of therapy, passive-aggressive or controlling, according to the input I've received from the Boards.
