Where is the traffic the worst? And if you live somewhere else than in the US, where do you think the traffic is worst? Why? (even if you are American and the traffic is worse in another country, you can tell it here too)

I thought traffic in Chicago was bad until I visited Cairo, Egypt. People there just drive where they want, totally disregarding the designated lanes. If they want to turn right from the far left lane, the just start turning. It was VERY harrowing and crossing the street was a challenge. The cars were sometimes within inches of each other. Yikes!

I agree with both Chicago and Boston, most definitely. However New Jersey is at the top of my list for bad traffic AND some of the worst, most inconsiderate, and selfish drivers.

NYCity. Besides double parking everywhere, you would have to give NYer a dictionary for them to look up what are "lanes"?

I've lived and visited a lot of places on the east coast and I still think Orlando is the worst.

It is a mixture of out of town tourists who are looking for attractions, locals who know where they are going and try to get there at 95mph, illegals who are used to driving in their own country and people who are probably drunk. I-4 is horrible, the 408 is miserably jammed up during Rush hour. most of the major arteries in and out of town are 2-lanes, and/or are toll roads so the smallest accident or spike in traffic is gridlock.
