My sweetie and I got engaged a few days before christmas! He hid a card that said "will you marry me" inside one of our favorite games. When I drew the card, he whipped out a box and proposed. The box was empty, but we went out that afternoon to pick out the ring together. We found a setting we both loved, but as is my tendency, I didn't want to make such a big purchase on the spot. I decided later that day it was in fact "the one", so we bought the ring the following day and had it put together on Christmas Eve (try finding a jeweler to work on a ring on christmas eve ... lol ... had to call in a favor). We then drove four hours to recreate our first date (which had been near my place before I moved in with him).

Wedding date TBD (possibly mid-august but it depends on family considerations). Don't really have more to say than that. Thought I'd share with boards and wish you all good luck with your own relationships.

Anyone else have a good holiday?

Congrats Suzy, I'm happy for the both of you.

My holiday was spent with family followed by a chance meeting of a very lovely girl on New Years day. What a way to ring in the New Year!

Sounds like a great holiday Suzie, congratulations.

We spent a week in wine country (Napa, CA), and visited some of my relatives in the Bay Area.
