I have to say that the one thing I am most self conscious about not just in dating, but every day life, would be my eczema. It scatters across my face, though manageable and controlable, it's with me for life which is a sad truth. Effected areas are my inner eyebrows, upper lip, left side of my nose, a smaller spot on my neck, my sideburns/temple areas, and inner ears.

Nothing like having skin build up ontop of skin on a 4 day cycle instead of the regular 28 days. Yes I take perscribed mediactions and some other things like dead sea products and as much sunlight as possible to manage it.

What I want to know is even though I have it managed, it leaves my skin pink and blotchy. Is this a deal breaker for people?

I have it too, but thankfully only on my forearms, and it gets worse in winter, but I can wear long sleeves then One guy seemed to be bothered by it, even though I told him many times it's not contagious. I swear he thought it was like leprosy or something Everyone else has either not noticed it, or noticed it and not said anything, or asked about it and were fine once I told them what it was and they couldn't catch it.

I think as long as you're doing everything you can to treat it, and I liked everything else about you, it wouldn't be an issue for me.

BTW have you tried Aquaphor? You can get it at any drug store, and it has made a HUGE difference for me. The only thing that has made that big of a difference for me was the prescription steroid cream that I can't afford right now. It's about $8 for a bottle. The eczema is still there but the Aquaphor has made it a lot less noticeable.

My ex had it...wasn't a big deal except when he wasn't able to help with doing dishes or any cleaning because the eczema on on his hands and of course he could never figure out any ways to help me in another ways...

He quit eating sulfates several months ago, and his flare ups have died down (sulfates are a preservative found in beer, some dried fruits, red wine and many prepackaged foods) You might want to look into things that you might be allergic too that can trigger eczema. I know it's quite painful

thankyou both jc and Faraday. I am using 2 steroid creams atm, one is a zinc based cream and the other is an anti-yeast also an oil / salt dead sea product that I find removes all existing skin (but leaves the newly revieled skin burning). I've also changed my diet to take in near-to-no yeast products, grabbing a fake-n-bake after the gym on day 1 on of my 4 day skin growth cycle and make sure to keep my skin clean at all times. I hate to sound like a woman (no offence ladies) but I spend about 20 mins, 3 times a day working on my face. This is more frustrating than anything knowing that it won't go away without moving out of my igloo and into a beach hut down south.

My son has eczema and they recently prescribed him 1 mg Triamcinolone Acetonide, it really works wonders on him and clears it up within 2 days with no side effects to the existing skin.

He is 14 yrs old, so a little beyond cradle cap! Why do they prescribe it for that?

Actually he has fought eczema his entire life, he was born with eczema on his face and he also had really bad cradle cap as a baby. The last couple years he gets it on the inside of his arms at the elbow and he started getting patches of it on his face in the last 2 months. The cream seems work better than any other one they have given him in the past. I put one application on his face and it was gone 2 days later.

Please tell me you aren't using a tanning salon!!....You may think that this temporary help with your issue is good...but those are now proven to be deadly...it QUADRUPLES your risk for melanoma....

I not only had to bury a friend 3 years ago, but I had to have 12 squamous cell carcinomas removed myself...

I foolishly used a tanning bed a lot back in high school and early 20's when they thought it was 'safer' than the real sun...What a mistake I'll be paying for the rest of my life...

A reputable Dermatologist would never recommend doing this. Getting 10 to 15 minutes of real sun is the maximum....

PLEASE...having ezcema show is ultimately better than the brief relief a tanning bed may do for you....

Ingy, thankyou for our concern, I go once or twice a week for 5 mins at a time, even then its only through a few of the winter months when I don't get to see the sun so much. Its dark when I get to work and it's dark on my way home.
