So funny.
Of course I've thought about it with my guy buds, and I know they've thought about it too. That chemistry is part of the reason we're friends. It's just not where it goes, ever.
And I've friend-zoned dates I liked but that weren't going there either.

I am sexually attracted to most of my friends. Because in my estimation they're good people, and would make great life partners. There's just something "off" when it comes to pursuing a relationship or marriage together.

For example, one is a few years older than me. Otherwise I would be all-in. She's hinted a few times we should go on a date, but I won't ruin our friendship with a fling. A few of my friends are married, and I won't be responsible for ruining their marriages.. but if they ever became divorced?! There's even one or two people online I think fondly of but I'm not into LDRs.

And lest I make it all seem one-sided, I have a friend who only dates men in her own culture, and another who only dates childless guys who want children.

I'd add these are friends not "friends". It doesn't bother me to see them happy, and I don't undermine their relationships.

This begs the question: What side are you on OP?

I don't really have guy friends that I see in person. I have many ex's or guys that I just didn't 'click' with on my facebook...but that's as far as it goes.

I tried to be friends with an eH match (nicest guy EVER but kissed like a dead fish ) but shortly after we took our kids out to zoo lights, he sent me flowers professing his feelings It made me feel REALLY bad.

I would love to have guy friends...but it just never seems to work out. Someone always develops feelings

What about you OCG?

FWIW, as long as the physical unattraction is mutual, then men and women can truly be friends.
I have no desire to sleep with any of my female friends. Likewise, they have no desire to sleep with me. That's why we can be friends, because I know I'm not being manipulated.

I'm far too intelligent to hang out with a woman that I am attracted to that isn't attracted to me, but says she wants to be my friend. She is just trying to manipulate me to her advantage. The last time I checked, true friends actually didn't do things like this to each other. In other words, I know that, "You're a great guy, but..." actually means, "You're a patetic sap that I'm going to take advantage of."

This topic is rapidly approaching "Who pays?" for most overdiscussed topic on eHA, IMO.

Given that plenty of men and women are friends, there's no question as to whether they can be. It's like asking, "Can people run marathons?" or "Can people eat at Burger King?" If it happens, it's clearly possible. No question there.

The real questions are whether it's appropriate, desirable, preferable, etc. for men and women to be friends. That's going to vary from person to person, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Is that why you dumped him? For kissing technique alone?
