Hmmm.... what about someone who is diabetic (cant share those decadent desserts), gluten intolerant (no breaking bread together), lactose intolerant (all those wonderful cheeses all to yourself), vegetarian, vegan, kosher, peanut allergy.....
OK, maybe I'm being a bit silly but sharing a meal, wine, food etc. is wonderful for the time spent in one anothers company rather than what one specifically does/does not put in ones mouth. But thats just me .

It's a funny thing about "deal-breakers"; we all want to keep our own...but we don't want anybody ruling us out for theirs.

I like wine; have it every day...with chocolate; it's good for me.

When it comes time to choose a husband, someone with whom to spend a lifetime in his company...I'm gonna pick one that enjoys a nice red wine with his chocolate.

But that's just me.

That's probably wise. It's the best way to ensure you both actually enjoy the time spent in each other's company.

It'll make shopping easier too.

Funny, when I made the exact same point you brought up some exceptions etc., someone else makes the same point, then it is a wise choice.

Do you just like sparring with me?

I asked about the red wine because I can't drink it. I was curious about how much men disliked that. Since I can't change that about myself, I just drink what I like, but it would be nice to know how irritating an outside observer finds it.

How much does it probably bug dates?

In a case like that I would not order the wine if white could not be paired with the meal.

Now, a long, long time ago I fixed a meal for a date. Some side dishes, and grilled filet mignon with a very nice bottle of wine. She asked for some Equal, and put it in her glass of wine!!!

That was the last date ever. I don't tolerate sacrilege.
