So after developing the start of planar fascia I had to take a hard look at shoes I was wearing and make some changes. Old tennis shoes exchanged for new and correctly fashioned for my stride and then I look at all the high heeled shoes ... I didn't want to give up all my heels. I'm too short for that!

Fortunately after a few months of trying out many different brands, I found a great high-heel shoe. No not just great. Amazing. Three-inch heel with a one inch platform yet feels like a one-inch heel in terms of pressure on the balls of the feet. Great cushioning, great look, lots of styles to choose from. I have been getting compliments on my shoes from complete strangers.

The brand is sofft. You can purchase them direct online if you know your size or you can find them at Macy's. Here's a link Sofftshoe.com - The Official Sofft Shoes Website

Just had to share that.

Glad you found some comfy shoes. I have plantar facia on my left heel as well. Have you tried Dr Scholl's products. I believe they make inserts you can wear with your high heels. I use heel pain inserts and it helps alot, took some getting used to at first though.

Hi Nightling....you are right about the sofft sandals, I bought a pair at Macy's a couple weeks ago and they are ultra-comfortable. I now wear them all the time

I am all about the comfortable shoes - that still look hot! Platform heels are great, because you get the height, without teetering around on ridiculous stilettos.

On a side note, I went to the doctor yesterday and they measured me. After years of knowing for a fact that I was 5'9"... I found out to my dismay that I am really 5'10"! I made the nurse measure twice. I almost cried in the doctor's office.

Aww

When I was in high school I soooo wanted to be taller so I could be a better basketball player. lol

I am 5'3. Even in heels, I'm still too dang short to be a good basketball player. *cries* hehe

That's the opposite of what I hear in the doctor's office! I've always been 5'5 1/2". Now I'm 5'4 3/4". The Incredible Shrinking Woman!

(Actually, it's genetics. My grandma, mom and older sister have all shrunk with age. It's also osteopenia/osteoporosis. If I live to my 90s I will be the proverbial little old hunched over lady.)

Those shoes look nice! I'm a little leery of spending that much on shoes that I can't try on first, and there's no Macy's around here. I may have to look for them while I'm traveling.
