I've been on the boards a long time now and have enjoyed reading the discussions.

I have a question directed to the men mostly, but women may also have opinions based on their personal experiences. I am a 40-year-old female who is slender. As a result, I have very small breasts. I was wondering which is worse, small breasts or breast implants? I'm athletic, so my body is toned and except for breast size, I'm happy with my body. I really don't want surgical breast enhancement, but I think it might make my future partner happier. I'm also worried about health risks. What are your thoughts and feelings???

Not a man ... but I'll chime in anyway!

I personally would not have surgery just to make a partner happier ... and I probably wouldn't be happy with a partner who wanted me to.

However, you're not me! If you're willing to do it ... maybe wait until you have a committed partner, and then do whatever pleases him? Some men prefer small breasts; some hate plastic surgery.

On the other hand ... if you yourself, just for you, would like to do it, then do it!

I think it will differ from guy to guy. For me you being athletic, and slender would be enough. I do not pick my women based on their breast size. I have also encountered a lot of botched, and way oversized breast enhancements.

If it is something you really want to do, do not go for bargain places, and get it done right.

I'd say this is one of those highly subjective things, but I know that for me personally... a slender body is much higher on my turn-on list than a nice rack... But again, highly subjective. I've just found that the curves of a slender woman's body are what I zoom and lock in on personally... whereas as we all know, other guys swear by the chest and its size as the primary turn on for themselves.

However, with that said and done... I don't think you'll find a guy out there who doesn't like a bigger "chest" on a woman (unless it's way too big btw. that's just nasty)... heck I would like it as well, despite having much stronger preferences for other things.

That is to say, If it's not a must have for the guy, it most definitely would be a nice-to-have for him methinks.

One thing I do wanna note... though I've never really researched about this myself... it's just something I heard someone mention once... so this is just hearsay... but it claimed that getting breast implants might result in the breasts becoming less (or none at all) of an erogenous zone for the woman. As in there's a chance you may lose some (if not all) of that feeling.

Something to look into.

There are plenty of women that I find attractive - even "hawt" - that don't have large breasts. I don't think it's very important to me.

I'm in the same camp as Harryross... the curves are what 'get' me, especially those on the rear 'assets'... and I do enjoy larger breasts but it's not a major importance factor for me.

Implants are worse. I don't understand the fascination people have with huge breasts. Sure, when her clothes are on they look nice but..... The other issue is that they don't age well. Once gravity sets in.... You don't have to worry about that with smaller breasts. Small > huge for a ltr.

Edit: As you touched on, it's based on overall body size. If she is big up top she will be big everywhere else. Think about it.

What is important is that YOU are happy with your body the way it is.

That is the wrong reason to consider a major surgical procedure. if you decide you would like breast enhancements, then go for it. If you are doing it only to please someone else, then I would rethink that decision.

A recent study demonstrated that while men self-report that they can identify an implant and prefer large natural, then small natural, then implants... in reality they can't discern good implants.

Honestly, boobs are one of the least important factors in determining whether I enter a relationship with someone. Be comfortable in your own skin--insecurity about your body isn't attractive.

Thank you, all, for your replies. I have a male friend, who likes sizes B or C, who made a joke about a future boyfriend buying me a size B (I'm an A). He was just joking, but it made me wonder about size and how important it may be. His feeling was that I would get more attention w/ a larger size. My reply was that I don't need lots of attention, just the attention of one, whom I am also interested in...The truth is though, that like most everyone else, I want to be attractive to the opposite sex. I eat healthy; I exercise; I dress nicely; so I do what I can to be attractive. There's just not much I can do naturally to increase my size short of gaining a lot of weight...
